USA announces its application to the US Army Corps of Engineers for a
deepwater offshore wind platform
Blue H USA, LLC announced it has
submitted an application to the US Army Corps of
Engineers to deploy a deepwater offshore wind
platform in federal waters on the Outer Continental Shelf,
approximately 23 miles southwest of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
The US Army Corps of Engineers received Blue H USA's
submission on August 21, 2009, has ruled that Blue H USA's application
is complete, issued a Public Notice on September 15, 2009, and will
accept public comments on the application until October 15, 2009.

GEOMA Project selected by Italian Government
Project
GEOMA, a consortium led
by Blue H has been selected as one of thirty recipients
of Italian public funding under the "Industria 2015" a
program announced by Mr. Claudio Scajola of the Ministry of Economic
Development. This Italian based project plans to develop a hybrid
concrete/steel 3.5 MW floating wind turbine ideal for the deep waters of
the Mediterranean Sea.
The consortium which is led by
Blue H R&D from Genoa, consists of Ansaldo
Sistemi Industriali (Milan), Blue H Sky Saver
(Santoramo in Colle), Cesi Ricerca (Milan),
EADS Astrium (Parigi), Progeco (Rosignano),
Società
Gomma Antivibrante (Milan),
TRE Tozzi Renewable Energy (Ravenna), and
Università Federico II di Napoli (Naples).
Project GEOMA
aims to create an integrated solution for a floating wind turbine able
to bring down the overall cost of electricity generation in line with
economics of onshore wind energy generation but without the problem of
negative visual impact.

Floating Deepwater Wind Energy Project Selected By UK Government
Project
Deepwater Turbine, a consortium led
by Blue H including BAE Systems,
EDF Energy, CEFAS, SLP Energy and
Romax, has been selected by the Energy Technology Institute (ETI) as one
of the first projects to receive funds as part of its £1.1 billion
initiative. This UK based project aims at developing an integrated
solution for a 5MW floating turbine deployed offshore in waters between
30 and 300 meters deep.

Consortia
NORTHWESTER applied for offshore wind concession to CREG
The consortium Northwester, consisting of Econcern's operating
company Evelop together with Blue H TTR (consisting of Transcor
Astra Group - a subsidiary of NPM/CNP -, TPF Group, Wagram Invest
and Blue H Technologies) has applied for a public property
concession license for the largest offshore wind farm project (600
MW) in the North Sea. The project is located in the furthest
available zone lying north of Bligh Bank and reaches depths ranging
from 30 to 45 metres.

announces Massachusetts Congressional Support for Offshore Wind
Demonstration Project
On Thursday, July 3, 2008, Blue H USA,
LLC (“Blue H”) announced that it has received a letter of support from
the entire Massachusetts Congressional Delegation to the Minerals
Management Service requesting consideration of its Massachusetts
deepwater wind energy demonstration project in federal waters located 23
miles off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard and 48 miles off the coast of
New Bedford. In the letter sent to the U.S. Department of Interior’s
Minerals Management Service dated June 26, 2008, the Massachusetts
Congressional Delegation stated, “We therefore encourage you to review
and consider the application submitted by Blue H USA, which could prove
beneficial for developing future renewable energy resources for
Massachusetts and the nation.”
